City Action acts as a free broker to facilitate the transfer of time, skills and resources between City firms and community-based organisations in the boroughs surrounding the London.
The City Action web site provides a wealth of information to both volunteering companies and communities organisations. This meant that accessibility was a key issue.
The site was constructed to meet Disability Discrimination Act 3 A Rating. This ensures that the site can be viewed by specialised browsers for the hearing and visually impaired.
Later, Redwire constructed an updated version of the website which incorporated City Action’s new logo and branding. Another addition to the website is the interactive bulletin of opportunities – a system allowing volunteer companies to find the best way to help local communities. City Action’s administrators can add live volunteering opportunities to the bulletin board as they become available. This is expected to go live soon.
